Friday Favorites: “Never Touch A” Books

Each Friday I want to talk about something that I absolutely loved this week. I want to highlight something material, delicious, or an experience or activity that brought me or my family joy. My Friday Favorites are things that enrich my life and make my life easier, exciting, or generally happy. This week I want to highlight the “Never Touch A” series of books.

I loved reading as a kid and I still do. I want to instill a love for reading and books in Danny as well. It was not until relatively recently that Danny showed an interest in books.

For my baby shower, my mom included these adorable cards in the invitation. The cards said “One small request that won’t be too hard, please bring a book instead of a card. They’ll cherish the book well loved or brand new, please sign the inside with a message from you.” What an amazing start to Danny’s library this was! People didn’t just bring one book, some brought dozens! In addition, my mom gave me our entire collection of Dr. Seuss books which is A LOT of books. 

Right now, Danny is into board books and touch-and-feel books. He mainly likes to put them in his mouth but we’re getting to the point where we’re able to read and interact with them. 

I’m always looking for a reason to order more books for his library so when I stumbled upon the “Never Touch A” books on Amazon I was pumped! The books were originally $10 but each were discounted so I ended up ordering 6 of them! 

Why these are our FAVORITE books:

I love these books because they have really high quality and eye-catching “touch” parts. The touch points are silicone and rubbery and stand out on the board pages. The different textures and vibrant colors are much more obvious than some of the fuzzy or papery touch books. Danny hasn’t missed a single one of the silly touch points in these books. When we turn the page his hand goes right to it! I also love that they’re short books. We can get through the whole story together without losing interest. These books are a great addition to our library!

Our collection includes Never Touch a Dragon, Never Touch a Porcupine, Never Touch a Shark, Never Touch the Dinosaurs, Never Touch a Monster, and Never Touch a Tiger. If your little is getting into books, these touch and feel books are a must have!
