Each Friday I want to talk about something that I absolutely loved this week. I want to highlight something material, delicious, or an experience or activity that brought me or my family joy. My Friday Favorites are things that enrich my life and make my life easier, exciting, or generally happy. This week’s Friday Favorites is Kyte Baby.

My journey to this heavenly bamboo apparel is a long time coming. One of my closest friends has a daughter almost 8 weeks older than Danny to the day. We share many of the same likes and dislikes regarding baby gear and toys. My friend has an obsession with Kyte Baby, which is putting it lightly. It was surprising that I put off buying something for almost a whole 7 months. Danny has PLENTY of clothes so I never really saw the appeal of expensive footie pajamas and rompers.
Well, I sorely misjudged the appeal of these bamboo baby clothes. I was in the market for a blanket sleeper for Danny because he was finally ready to transition out of any kind of swaddle. I had managed to get him out of his Love to Dream Swaddleup and into a Merlin Magic Sleep Suit at around 5 months old. It became immediately apparent when he started rolling over that I was going to need to find something else for him to sleep in sooner rather than later. One day while he was settling down for his nap he rolled right over in that suit and it was game over. I pretty much can’t keep him on his back to save my life these days.
I was coveting the Kyte Baby sleeper bags for quite some time as ad after ad appeared on all of my social media platforms. After doing my fair share of Amazon browsing for other blanket sleepers to no avail, I once again found myself browsing Kyte Baby. My attraction to the colors and plush appearance of the Kyte Baby blanket sleeper was all too real.
So, I ordered a 1.0 tog sleep bag in Navy. As a sucker for free shipping, I also ordered a set of zippered footie pajamas in slate because how cute are they when paired together? (Spoiler: VERY cute). I’m not sure who was more excited about the new sleep bag, me or Daniel (or my friend, who is excited to have someone to share in her obsession). When it arrived I naturally ripped right into it and zipped him up to check the fit. Daniel measures into the 6-18 month size range but based on first hand accounts, I still worried he could get it over his face. Thankfully, it does not.
This sleep bag is WORTH it. It is so incredibly soft and lofty. It has a ton of growing room. I love that it allows for full range of motion for Danny while he sleeps. When I woke up the first night he slept in it he was curled up sleeping blissfully on his belly. He could not get on his belly in the sleep suit (unless he was raging hard) and had never slept on his belly unless he was sleeping against someone’s chest. The next morning he napped in it for a FULL HOUR. For morning nap, this is UNHEARD of. Time will tell if this luxurious bamboo nonsense becomes his favorite thing, but for now, it is definitely my favorite! I definitely wish I had caved sooner and bought all the things for his layette! I guess it is never too late to start!
