Best Baby Teething Toys

Teething is NO fun. It is unpredictable, uncomfortable, and involves a lot of chewing and drooling. Daniel has not cut any teeth yet and we are 7 months into this baby thing. He may not have teeth yet but he sure is chewing and drooling as if they are imminent. We are in a perpetual state of bib replacement and teething remedies. I put together a quick list of the best baby teething toys we have around and Danny’s favorite things to chew on.

Okay, funny story. In between writing that first section and finishing my list of favorite teething toys, I felt a tooth! Danny has been SUPER chatty the last couple of days and mouthy as if he is feeling his gums. I stuck my finger in there to feel after his nap and what do ya know! He has a little bit of tooth cracking right on through!

7 Best Baby Teething Toys

Here is the list of the best baby teething toys straight from the baby’s mouth:

1. Sophie la Girafe

Sophie comes out on top as being one of Danny’s favorite teething toys. I have the small teething ring Sophie on a teething clip that I keep in his car seat for when we go out. He started out with the teething ring version and eventually moved up to big Sophie. His love of this giraffe is intense. Big Sophie has a squeaker and smells like vanilla to boot. There is a lot of hype around this silly giraffe and it is justified. He loves her. Be sure to check out the combo set where you get big and little Sophie!

2. Baby Teething Tube

Second only to Sophie, is the baby teething tubes. This teether is a simple half-ribbed silicone tube. I was lured in by ads for these teethers and decided they looked fun and Danny had to have one. He loves this tube. You would think that something as long as it is would be problematic with gagging and choking but it surprisingly is not. Danny loves to chew both ends of the tube, bend it in half to chew it, and also fling it around full of spit.

3. Carrot Teether

Among the many things I bought for Danny’s first Easter basket was this cute carrot teether. I bought it mainly because it was on theme with Easter, but it has proven to be an immediate baby favorite. It is really well made and has several different textures. Danny has no problem holding and grabbing but this teether definitely makes it easier for him.

4. Infantino “Bomb” Balls

I don’t know what to call these things. My family and I all call them something different. They look like little bombs to me. We also call them the nipple ball, the binky ball, and most recently the virus ball (it really does look like that though!). These balls come with a set of Infantino balls and blocks and Danny is obsessed with them. The points are different lengths and he can chew and chew and chew. The best part is that you get a whole set of fun balls and blocks to chew on!

5. Grimm’s Bead Ring

Danny has two preferred textures: wood and silicone. He mouths just about everything to test it out but wood and silicone are the clear favorite when it comes to chewing and soothing those gums. I got this fun colored Grimm’s bead ring because it was reminiscent of another teether (listed below) that he loves. And also, I have a growing obsession with Grimm’s and pretty wooden toys. I got Daniel’s bead ring from the Wooden Wagon.

6. Lovevery Silicone/Wood Teething Ring

Remember how I said Danny’s favorite chewing textures were wood and silicone? The Lovevery bead teether combines the best of both worlds. It has silicone rainbow beads and three natural wooden beads. When we first got this in the 3-4 month Charmer subscription box this was his FAVORITE toy. It still ranks pretty high on his teething favorites at month 7! If you are not subscribing to the Lovevery play kits (which I wholeheartedly encourage) you can find a similar silicone/wood teether easily!

7. Lovevery Wooden Triangle

Okay, so I just looked up this one to see what it was actually called and discovered it has been replaced with a rubber triangle! I can’t speak to the delight of this replacement but I can attest that it’s wooden counterpart is a huge hit with Danny. It is just a plain old wooden triangle with rounded edges and a hole in the middle. We call it his “cheese wedge” (see what I mean about needing to look up the real names?). It is the perfect size and shape for him to chomp right down on. If we didn’t have this, I would definitely get this wooden teething ring and block set.

Tell me your baby’s favorite teething toy!

Danny clearly has a long list of favorite teethers. Each one serves a different purpose for him and he loves rotating them out to help sooth his gums. What are your baby’s favorite teether for teething remedies?
